"How Can White People Accelerate Racial Justice?: One White Woman’s Perspective" with facilitator and educator Christine Saxman.

Join us for a live podcast interview event with educator and facilitator Christine Saxman, answering the question: “How Can White People Accelerate Racial Justice?” including a focus on addressing Deerfield history and talking to young people about race. Q & A will follow the conversation, which will be released on the Deerfield Public Library Podcast. Register and the Zoom link will be emailed to you closer to the event. 

Christine Saxman is racial and social justice facilitator, most recently for Courageous Conversations About Race. She also works for the National SEED Project (Seeking Education Equity and Diversity) as part of the National Staff.  Prior to full-time facilitation, Christine was an educator in Township District 113 (at Deerfield High School) in Illinois for fifteen years where she was also a racial equity leader. In 2016, she received recognition as an Illinois Golden Apple Finalist and Teacher of Distinction. She earned a B.A. in English from University of Pittsburgh, a M.A. in English from Northwestern University, and a M.S. in Education from Northwestern University.
