Today's Hours: The library is open today from
Join author Eve Turow-Paul for a discussion on the "why" behind today's biggest food and lifestyle trends. Valid email required for registration. Held via Zoom.
From avocado toast to goat yoga, Eve will review the emotional and cultural drivers behind the biggest trends. In a casual and unique setting, Eve will talk with Deerfield librarian Sam Rosen about the ways popular food and lifestyle trends reflect our rising rates of anxiety, loneliness, and a search for meaning, and she'll review how each of us can use food as a way to cultivate well-being each and every day. Eve will also touch on the role of food trends in the context of COVID-19, the climate crisis, as well as the racial justice movement.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite craft beverage—tea, kombucha, beer, spirit—to the event.
Eve Turow-Paul, author of Hungry, is the founder and Executive Director of the Food for Climate League, a non-profit that’s creating an exciting food and climate narrative to democratize sustainable eating. Hungry is instantly available through Hoopla with your DPL library card.
