This 2 ½ hour class will open doors to the possibilities in repurposing vintage cookie and fruitcake tins in the realm of jewelry design. A demonstration will be provided as to methods for breaking down tins, cutting the metal tins, creating holes in the metal and finishing the tin with files and sandpaper.
Following the demonstration, each person will be given a prepared tin shape and will be taught how to frame the tin in wire for a professional, finished look. We will cover how to create a wire bail and how to include a dangle component. Recommended for ages 14 years and up; good manual dexterity is recommended for this class. All tools and supplies will be provided.
