Our group will meet monthly to work our way through four of Penelope Fitzgerald's contemporary classic novels.

Award-winning British writer Penelope Fitzgerald (1916-2000) was known for her astonishing, diamond-perfect short novels—some semi-autobiographical, some historical—which she began to publish in her 60s. Our group will meet monthly to work our way through four of her contemporary classic novels, covering such disparate subjects and settings as a bookshop on the East coast of England, the BBC during WWII, the Russian Revolution, and the strange life of German Romantic poet-philosopher Novalis.
